These two adjacent buildings are typical of the many late 19th century structures that characterize downtown Lewiston. Both buildings are extremely solidly built and appear in good structural condition. Most upgrades have already been made, such as a new elevator and infrastructure systems. Both buildings had former industrial uses, but are now returned to mixed use–with retail at the ground level and residences at upper floors. Lachman Architects & Planners provided services for:
- Condo Documentation–Graphic documentation to complement an attorney and surveyor in order to convey both properties into condominiums
- Design–Converting the 2nd floor from a former industrial space into two residential loft units. With high ceilings and large windows, the approach is to create an open yet warm feel that provides a respite of home with the excitement of downtown at your doorstep.
